NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A family is grateful that their 90-year-old mother is safe after robbers violated her home in eastern New Providence. On Friday around 10:30 am, the alleged burglar pried open the gate to gain access to the backyard. He then kicked open the screen door to enter the home, leaving a visible dent.

Paul and David Bartlett said that their 90-year-old mother and her caregiver were inside, completely unaware of the intruder’s presence. At the time of the incident they were on another family property.

Despite jewelry and other items being stolen, Paul said that his brother David was grateful to recover his passport and cellphone, which was found hidden under a tree on a nearby property

As material things can be replaced, the Bartlett’s said that they are just grateful their loved ones are safe.
