NASSAU, BAHAMAS – In many countries, life has begun to look a lot like it did before the pandemic. Businesses operate as usual, testing requirements for travel have been dropped and in many cases, mask mandates have fallen away.

For The Bahamas, that change will begin on October 1st but the Director General of the World Health Organization is warning that while the end of the pandemic is near, it is not here yet.

Dr. Tedros Ghebreyeus says weekly deaths around the world are on the decline, standing at just 10% of the peak in January 2021.
