INDIA – Questions are being raised about the efficiency of police in India after two women were paraded naked by a mob of men in Manipur, the incident sparking global outrage.

Residents are questioning why it took police so long to act when there was a complaint lodged just days after the incident, especially when there was clearly identifiable footage.

Senior government officials say the delay was due to the small size of the Manipur police force.

Local women took matters into their own hands when they burned the house of one of the alleged persons who dragged the women onto the streets.
