GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Work on Grand Bahama’s new international airport is set to begin this month, according to Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper, who made the revelation during Thursday’s Grand Bahama Business Outlook.

Cooper said the $200 million investment will be designed, built, financed, operated, maintained and redeveloped by Aerodrome Limited, a Bahamian company.

Aerodrome is led by engineer Anthony Farrington, CFAL president Anthony Ferguson, and businessmen Anthony Meyers and Greg Stewart.

Cooper says Aerodrome is in a joint partnership with Manchester Airport Group, an airport management group based in Manchester, and BHM Construction International. The group is expected to be financed by UK Export Finance UKEF.

The mission, he adds, will be to transform Grand Bahama International Airport into a climate neutral resilient world class airport.
