NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Thousands of workers hit the streets despite near record-breaking heat for the Randol Fawkes Labor Day Parade. They were joined by union leaders and politicians, who all stressed the importance of having a strong workforce.

Workers and members of the country’s biggest unions were out in full force for the 2024 Labor Day Parade. Sir Randol Fawkes established Labor Day in 1961, and it is named in his honor.

But what is the current temperature on the labor front? In recent years, the Davis administration has faced repeated criticism from several unions, leading to more than a dozen protests. Labor Minister Pia Glover-Rolle and Prime Minister Philip Davis both say the government is interested in resolving these matters.
