Controversy erupted over the weekend after the Davis administration led a large delegation to Dubai. One of the swirling questions centered on The Bahamas National Youth Choir’s absence.

According to the youth choir’s Director Dexter Fernander, this is how it played out.

Fernander says he found out the choir would not be going to expo 2020 on social media.

But more than 100 people did make that Dubai delegation including Bahamian artists and performers, among them Shaback, a choir led by OPM Press Secretary Clint Watson, whose relatives also made up the delegation in other capacities.

When it comes to the outpouring of support the national choir is now receiving, he says they are humbled. But says they also want to see that support continue.
