10% Taxi Fare Increase On The Way

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Taxi drivers will get a 10% fare increase, according to Minister Responsible Jobeth Coleby-Davis.

Davis telling parliament the increase came by way of the taxi industry service improvement project.

The increase came out of a new partnership between The Ministry of Transport and Housing, The Bahamas Taxicab Union, and The Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association.

A fare increase is something the taxi cab union has been pushing for for quite some time.

Coleby-Davis also telling parliamentarians that a code of conduct for public service drivers will be enforced by September this year.
