NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man has been sentenced to 10 years after pleading guilty to robbing three businesses at gunpoint.

Twenty-seven-year-old Ashtino Douglas received the sentence as part of a plea deal.

On November 16, 2023, Douglas robbed a cashier at Faith Variety Store of $1,300.

That same day, Douglas also held up the 4G Variety Store of $40.

On August 5, 2021, Douglas held up Budget Food Store in Coral Harbour at gunpoint and made off with $875.

Douglas will receive credit for time spent on remand.

Public defender Stanley Rolle told that court that Douglas didn’t want his dreadlocks cut due to religious reasons.
