NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Parliamentary officials meeting with representatives from the Progressive Liberal Party, Free National Movement, and Coalition of Independents at Police Head Quarters to inspect 12 family island advanced poll ballot boxes before they were moved to the Parliamentary Registration Department (PRD) on Wednesday.

It’s the result of an agreement made between all sides during a late night meeting Tuesday following major drama unfolding outside PRD.

On Wednesday, three representatives from each side were allowed to go into the room to inspect the boxes, before they were transported to a police bus to be escorted to PRD’s HQ.

FNM Chairman, Dr. Duane Sands, telling reporters the process was a stark difference from the chaos that ensued last night.

“This is what we hope would happen even yesterday, unfortunately there was no such preparation and we resisted, we protested, and now we’re happy with the way things are happening today.”

However, Coalition of Independents Leader, Lincoln Bain, makes this alarming claim.

Lincoln Bain – Leader, Coalition of Independents

“A lot of those seals are already broken or lifted, and you have to find a different way to seal these boxes ,the seal is very disappointing. We took pictures of one of the boxes. The seal is crumpled like it was tampered with, and the seal is lifted on many of those boxes five or six of them, including Golden Isles, Golden Gates, Pinewood, Carmichael…Yamacraw.”

It’s important to note that we were not able to confirm or verify these claims with the PRD.

However, PLP Representative Alex Storr disagrees with Bain’s claims.

“I viewed the same ballot box that Mr. Bain saw, their was tape on the boxes, some of the tape may peal up a little bit , but it was obvious they wasn’t tampered with, all parties put the seal on the boxes and none of those were broken.”
