20-Year-Old Man Charged With Murder, Attempted Murder

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man is behind bars after police say he’s responsible for a triple shooting that killed a man outside the Twin Brothers Restaurant this summer.

Prosecutors say 20-year-old Shuquno Sweeting is responsible for the July 31 murder of Julian Newbold and the attempted murders of Marvin Williams and Johnesha Eugene.

Newbold and Williams were at the East Street restaurant waiting on their food when two gunmen opened fire and shot them.

Eugene, an employee, was also hurt in the incident.

Sweeting wasn’t required to enter pleas to the charges when he appeared before Assistant Chief Magistrate Kara Turnquest-Deveaux.

Bail was denied and Sweeting is back in court on March 16 to receive a voluntary bill of indictment.
