NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A judge declared a mistrial after jurors were deadlocked on a man who allegedly raped and indecently assaulted a nine-year-old girl in 2024.

Jurors were unable to reach a verdict in the trial of Shaquille Martin, 31, prompting Justice Neil Brathwaite to declare a mistrial.

Martin will face a second trial on the child sex abuse allegations in May.

He remains on bail.
