NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Labourers from across the island standing in solidarity as they marched through the streets of New Providence on Friday morning.

These labour leaders say there are still many issues affecting workers in the country that they hope will be addressed soon.

Prime Minister Philip Davis and Minister of Labour and Immigration Keith Bell also showing their support.

Now five years ago, five women tragically lost their lives during the Labour Day parade.

Several wreaths were laid outside the Zion Baptist Church.

Our News spoke with Bahamas Financial Services Union President Theresa Mortimer the four victims were members of. She says the parade is a form of healing.
