NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Twenty-seven police officers graduated this week as school resource officers.

School Policing Coordinator Chief Superintendent Chaswell Hanna says officers had to go through a 41-hour course.

He explains some of the key areas of training.

This is the second cohort to graduate from the program. These officers are internationally certified, which he says allows them to act as school resource officers in other countries.

The officers will be deployed at public schools in New Providence and across the islands.

Hanna says the program has already seen results.
