NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Government signing a contract Tuesday with the Caribbean Centre for Energy and Energy Efficiency (CREEE) for an integrated resource and resilience plan.

The plan aims to integrate 30% renewable energy generation in the power grid by 2030 in hopes of leading to a more stable and lower cost of electricity, as well as better impact on the climate.

Funding for this aspect of the project will come from the Inter-American Development Bank.

Executive Director of the Caribbean Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, Dr. Gary Jackson says their role is to help member states like The Bahamas, navigate their energy transition.
