NASSAU, BAHAMAS – From being scared in the shallows to diving into the deep end!

The Bahamas Striping Group of Companies sponsored swim lessons for 300 school-aged children from the Fox Hill Community this summer.

On Saturday at the Fox Hill Community Centre, those kids received their certificates from the learn to swim program.

Here’s what one new swimmer had to say.

Coach Anthony Rolle says he was saddened by the amount of fear the children had for the water when they started.

Now he says he’s proud of the transformation.

Twenty-eight children participated through the Nassau Village Urban Renewal Centre. The center’s manager is Wendy Russell.

You can see the kids’ newfound confidence as they talk about the program.
