NEBRASKA – A 5-year-old boy died after being left in a hot car in Omaha, Nebraska, for approximately seven hours.

Authorities say they discovered the unresponsive child outside a beauty salon where his foster mother works, shortly after 5pm Wednesday.

Despite efforts at a hospital, the boy was pronounced dead.

His foster mother, 40-year-old Juanita Pinon, faces charges of child abuse by neglect resulting in death.

The incident occurred amidst temperatures reaching 89 degrees.
