NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Fifty new motorcycles officially commissioned to ease the flow of traffic in The Bahamas, particularly in the densely populated capital, New Providence.

Commissioner of Police, Clayton Fernander says these cycles are top of the line.

For the past seven weeks, over 50 officers have been in training to drive and maintain the cycles.

Fernander says this time around, they’ve also involved select Defense Force officers to be a part of the training.

The traffic officers will target high traffic areas during their peak times.

He says weekends have their own set of challenges.

The top cop could not give an exact figure for the purchase of the motorcycles, simply saying it was “hefty, within the millions”.
