NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A neighborhood bike ride ended in tragedy for a 9-year-old boy. Tonight, family members are speaking out and reflecting a life cut tragically short.

A teddy bear now hangs on Quakoo Street, forever marking the area where the life of a 9-year-old ended after a fatal traffic accident Tuesday evening.

Police say a flatbed truck was towing a trailer along Quakoo Street as the child was riding his bicycle when the two collided.

Family members say the victim is Kevin Lowe Jr. His grandaunt Gerthalene Edgecombe says she was home when it happened.

Known as KJ, his family says he was humble and shy, yet friendly and very mannerly.

Compounding the tragedy, they say they are also preparing to bury another family member this weekend.

As his family grieves, police are actively investigating and calling on the public to drive with due care and attention.
