Charlton Wins Bronze in London, Miller-Uibo Comes 5th

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM – Devynne Charlton took the bronze medal in the 100m hurdles at the Athlos London meet on Friday, finishing the race at a time of 12.63 seconds.

Charlton finished behind Alaysha Johnson of the USA, who won in a time of 12.50 seconds, and Tobi Amusan of Nigeria, who was hot on her heels, taking silver in 12.51 seconds.

Shaunae Miller-Uibo ran as well, winning 5th place in the 200m event.

Athlos has a really cool story; it’s an all-women track and field circuit, co-owned by Alexis Ohanian and a number of women track athletes, most notably Sha’Carri Richardson, Tara Davis-Woodhall, and Gabby Tomas.

The season will wrap up next week in New York, where hopefully Devynne and Shaunae can make a big finish.

Walcott Makes Triple-A Debut, Robinson Homers, Richarson and the Braves Win 2nd Straight

The 6’4″ shortstop from New Providence hit the I-35 immediately after Friday night’s loss to Round Rock, where he made his triple-A debut on Saturday.

He got the start at DH, hitting in the 2-hole, which made an immediate impact.

He went 1-4 with a single, a walk, and a stolen base to help his team get a 6-2 in over the Tacoma Raniers.

For those of you unacquainted with Minor League Baseball, triple-A is not a joke.

It is the highest level of the minors and the final stop before the major leagues.

The move indicates that the Rangers are preparing Walcott to come into camp next year ready to be their starting shortstop.

Elsewhere in the lone star state, Coach Antoan Richardson and the Atlanta Braves won their 2nd straight, taking down the Houston Astros 6-3.

Houston is known as the “Space City,” and Coach Richardson’s outfield mentee took that to heart, launching an absolute rocket over the left field wall for a grand slam to put the Braves over the top.

Mike Yastrzemski rocked a solo shot as well to contribute to the win.

Kristian Robinson did some yard work of his own to help his triple-A Reno Aces get a 7-4 win over the Sacramento River Cats.

The outfielder from New Providence hit a solo shot to dead center to help his team get the win.
