NASSAU, BAHAMAS – When Commonwealth Brewery Limited opened its doors in 1987, much of the brewing process was manual.

Today, four decades later, the operation looks very different, which is a reflection of just how far the company, and the industry have come.

Retired Engineering Manager Ed Beneby was there from the beginning, joining the brewery in 1986 and watching it take shape from the ground up.

Beneby’s experience captures one of the central themes of CBL’s 40-year journey – Evolution.

That evolution is continuing with modernization, technology and efficiency, which is now at the centre of the company’s future plans.

However, technology is only one part of that transformation, because behind the equipment, the processes and the products are the people.

As CBL looks to the next chapter, the focus on people is now being matched by a focus on the consumer.

The company says it is continuing to explore new products and respond to changing consumer preferences.
