FLORIDA, UNITED STATES – Malcolm Goodman, the business partner of former National Security Minister Marvin Dames has been sentenced to six years in a Florida prison for drug trafficking.

Florida judge Melissa Damian handed down the sentence, which was below the 9 to 11 year term recommended by both the prosecution and defense.

Goodman was arrested on February 11th after U.S. law enforcement officers seized four million dollars worth of cocaine during a search of the yacht – MV Reel Xperience off Florida.

The yacht was jointly owned by Goodman and Dames.

Goodman’s attorney, Jay Allen White said his client invested $20,000 of his savings in the vessel, giving him a 30 percent stake.
