NASSAU, BAHAMAS – For the 9th consecutive year, Baha Mar has brought its employees and vendors together for its Annual Benefits Fair, an event that continues to grow, reaching more than 600 employees this year with 29 vendors, spanning from finance and fitness, to insurance and healthcare.
With this year’s theme: Travel With Benefits, Director of Benefits Kelli Rolle says the event is about more than just signing up for a service, it’s about showing employees that their well-being matters.

“Baha Mar cares about our staff morale, and we use this as yet another opportunity to show them that we put them first and that we are very invested in their overall health and well-being.”
The vendors also came prepared to make their benefits hard to miss with giveaways, interactive displays and plenty of information for employees looking to make the most of what’s available to them.
For Commonwealth Bank, the fair also presented an opportunity to connect with employees looking into owning a home or property.
Life Insurance Specialist at the Mortgage Department, Ashlee Carrol, pointed out that signing up meant quicker access.

“[I] can guarantee that we can assess them more quicker in terms of the faster approvals, the turnaround time, granted all the documentation is in and everything’s correct. So they’ll be top priority for us depending on everything they provide us with.”
Also, the benefits weren’t limited to what’s available here at home. Baptist Health, which operates hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout South Florida and the keys was also on hand, reaching out to employees who may be considering medical care abroad.
Country Manager Angelique Griffen says having a local presence can make that process less overwhelming.

“The benefit is to be here and to be in front of the people and to let them know that we are available…to hold their hand if they are interested in having services abroad.”
However, after nine years of hosting the fair, the big question is, are employees actually benefiting?
For Assistant Director for Public Areas, Shaniqua Stuart, the answer is yes.
She says a previous visit to the fair led her to take advantage of savings opportunities offered through CFAL, and now she wants her colleagues to look beyond the paycheck and think about their future.
Shaniqua Stuart – Employee
“Somedays we just feel like we come to work just to work and we don’t see the benefit of working. So I want all of my colleagues and myself to realize that there’s a future beyond today.”
