The rhythmic sounds of the goat skin drums coupled with the sounds of the brass section and other instruments that bring the sounds synonymous with Junkanoo music all start here.
Whether it’s the Valley Boys or Saxons Superstars on a Sunday, the Genesis Warhawks on a Tuesday, Roots on a Wednesday, or One Family Junkanoo group on a Thursday, the melodies of Junkanoo music could be heard ringing out as Junkanooers perfect the rhythmic performance we see on Bay on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
But as these musicians explain its a lot more than you think. For instance, the backline sections of the Saxons Superstars and Roots explain, practices can get intense.
It’s been two years since Junkanooers have had the opportunity to perform before on Bay.
