GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – A Grand Bahama dog expert and trainer is speaking out on the importance of dog owners being responsible for their pets, after what seems to be a spike in reported dog attacks.

A 63-year-old-man from Grand Bahama was arraigned in a Magistrate’s Court this week, on a number of charges related to a recent dog attack following an incident where a man and woman were attacked by six pit bulls.

Grand Bahama dog expert and trainer Corey Damianos said training is key for dogs’ development.

Damianos has been training dogs for over 20 years on the island and said even if he doesn’t expect his dog not to act aggressively, he is always on alert.

He says it’s also important for dog owners to register their dogs and insists discipline can go a long way.
