ACKLINS, BAHAMAS – A. Loftus Roker is described as a passionate and dedicated public servant, who advocated for many across the country.

The retired lawyer, politician and acklins native is a former student of the now A. Loftus Roker High School. Roker shared this honor means to him.

Prime Minister Philip Davis says Roker played a critical role in one of the most important moments in the country’s history.

Education Minister Glenys Hanna-Martin says it was most fitting to rename the school after Roker.

Awards were also presented to the honoree. A plaque and school sign was also unveiled.
