NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Days after two fast food restaurants were targeted by thieves, the CEO and chairman of the company that owns them is speaking out, calling the incidents unfortunate.

Three businesses in eastern New Providence were the target of armed robbers on Saturday night, two of them fast food eateries owned by Aetos Holdings Ltd.

The company’s CEO and chairman, Christopher Tsavoussis, was interviewed at the official opening of their newest Wendy’s location at Old Fort.

He confirmed both the Wendy’s location in the Seagrapes Plaza and the Popeyes location on Prince Charles Drive were robbed over the weekend.

Police say around 9:30 Saturday night, thieves approached a female employee, taking the business’s cash register before fleeing.

Around that same time, robbers at another location jumped through the drive-thru window, stealing cash and other valuables.

Tsavoussis says both incidents happened at the drive-thru.

“Then they went on and hit some store at Village Road and we’re hoping, I’m hoping the police have some leads on that, but you know thank God nobody was none of our customers. This is all in the drive-through. None of our customers or our employees were injured.”

Officer in charge of crime, Assistant Commissioner Anton Rahming, told us yesterday that investigators believe both robberies are connected.

And with two of their eateries targeted, Tsavoussis says safety is something they take very seriously.

“By ensuring that we have certain safety procedures in place, certain cash procedures in place and security guards as well, and you know, we just don’t take risks.”

Christopher Tsavoussis, CEO and chairman, Aetos Holdings Ltd.
“You know, we have a very stern policy. You always comply with anyone that comes to try to cause harm and give them whatever they ask for in that regard.”

Christopher Tsavoussis, CEO and chairman, Aetos Holdings Ltd.
“Safety and security are number one priority and responsibility. Protecting our customers and our team members has always been paramount. We do everything we can.”
