GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – What was Hurricane Ian has now moved into the Atlantic Ocean after leaving a trail of destruction in western Florida. The storm leaving behind flooding, downed power lines and trees. The Our News team was on the ground today assessing Grand Bahama and spoke to several residents who say they are grateful the island was spared.

Over in Grand Bahama clean up efforts have begun as there is some debris in the road due to wind and rain this week.

Today, the seas were still rough and Ian tracked north.

Residents are now breathing a sigh of relief as they’re happy that the storm only caused minimal damage.

One resident saying says if a storm comes to Grand Bahama, he is sure that residents will always be on high alert.
