NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Air Canada will begin gradually canceling flights Thursday ahead of a possible strike by 10,000 flight attendants this weekend.

The airline warns all Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge flights could halt by Saturday if no agreement is reached.

CEO Michael Rousseau expressed regret for the disruption to customers and communities. The union issued a 72-hour strike notice Wednesday over low wages and unpaid work, rejecting binding arbitration.

Air Canada responded with a lockout notice, offering affected passengers refunds or alternative travel.
