Airport Authority Addresses Viral Voice Note

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A voice note stating a bomb was found in a bag at the Leonard Thompson International Airport in Abaco going viral on Whatsapp, Wednesday.

Hours after it was shared, a statement was sent by the Airport Authority revealing that it was actually a full scale emergency drill at the airport in Marsh Harbour.

Officials explaining that the purpose of the drill was to fulfill regulations for the International Civil Aviation Organization and The Bahamas Civil Aviation Authority.

Officials confirmed that operations at the airport resumed shortly after 10 this morning.
