Conspiracy theorist talk show host Alex Jones has been ordered to pay nearly a billion dollars in damages to families who lost loved ones in the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre.

Eight families of the victims and one first responder were each awarded $965 million by a Connecticut jury Wednesday, ending a weeks-long trial and years long fight.

Jones used his right-wing talkshow to push baseless lies, saying the 2012 mass shooting, which killed 26 people, was staged and the families and first responders were crisis actors.

The plaintiffs told how the lies prompted unrelenting harassment and compounded the agony of losing their loved ones.

As the verdict was read, Jones, absent from the courtroom, mocked the decision on his “Info Wars” show using it to fundraise.
