NASSAU, BAHAMAS – As New Year’s Day draws closer, ticketing managers at ALIV say they’re turning to a familiar strategy, a short-term discount designed to nudge undecided fans to commit.

Tanya Bain – Manager, Digital Applications, ALIV

“For this upcoming parade, we have now introduced a sale so customers can now get 26% percent off on their Junkanoo ticket purchase.”

ALIV Digital Application Manager, Tanya Bain, tells us the discount applies across the board, no matter the section, using a simple promo code at checkout.

“Once you’ve already selected your seats, once you are getting ready to put in your credit card, you’re going to be able to apply a promo code, NYD26, and you will be able to get that 26% off at the end of your transaction.”

The code again, NYD26 is valid for one day only, and comes with a hard deadline.

“It’s live now, it actually ends tomorrow, tomorrow at 10 a.m.”

Officials say the promotion is being offered in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture and the National Junkanoo Committee as they work to build momentum heading into the parade.

“For New Year’s Day, the ticket sales are creeping, but it’s not where we want it to be. So right now, this is why we’re offering this sale.”

Bain says the approach is not new, and has been used in previous years
as a way to drive late-stage sales.

Tanya Bain – Manager, Digital Applications, ALIV

“Last year we did the exact same thing where we offered the 25 percent off, so this year, with us bringing in 2026, we’re going to give customers an early New Year’s Day present.”
