NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man accused of shooting a man multiple times has been jailed for having an illegal gun.

Aldeon Miller, 26, was sentenced to 15 months’ imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of ammunition with intent to supply.

Acting on information, police executed a search warrant on Miller’s home on Gleniston Avenue on August 27.

While searching his bedroom closet, the officers found a 9mm pistol with a magazine that contained 36 rounds of ammunition.

Miller pleaded guilty at his arraignment before Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley.

Miller will spend an additional three months in custody for the gun if he doesn’t pay a $3,000 fine.

Miller will serve six months for the ammunition at the same time.

Meanwhile, Miller was denied bail on the attempted murder charge.

Prosecutors say he shot Latario Missick multiple times outside of his home in Nassau Village on August 22.

He didn’t have to enter a plea to the attempted murder charge and the matter has been adjourned to November 14 for the presentation of voluntary bill of indictment papers.
