TEHRAN, IRAN – Thick plumes of black smoke filled the sky over Iran’s capital Monday, after a new wave of U.S. And Israeli airstrikes targeted Tehran.

Video from the city showed dark clouds rising behind buildings, with explosions echoing in the distance.

The escalating military campaign comes amid heightened tensions following the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, sparking retaliatory action from Iran.
