NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Prosecutors on Thursday asked for adjournment in the high-profile case of an American woman accused of plotting to kill her estranged husband along with two Bahamian men.

Lindsay Shiver, her boyfriend, Terrance Bethel and alleged hitman Faron Newbold Jr made a brief appearance before Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.

They are accused of conspiring to kill Shiver’s husband, Robert, on July 16.

However, the prosecutor Sergeant Cordero Farrington said the documents weren’t ready and asked for the matter to be put off until December 1.

Shiver’s lawyer Owen Wells asked that the matter be brought up earlier if possible.

He said that Shiver’s bail conditions restricted her from leaving the country and that she was eager to see her three children.

The matter has been adjourned to December 1, but Reckley has scheduled  November 6 for a status report.
