UNITED STATES- Millions across the U.S. are bracing for extreme winter weather, with dangerously low temperatures and a rare southern snowstorm disrupting travel.

Winter storm warnings stretch from Texas to Florida, where snow, sleet, and freezing rain are expected through Wednesday.

In western New York, heavy lake-effect snow could pile up to 2 feet in some areas.

Forecasters say the Arctic Blast will bring freezing temperatures to 70 million people, with parts of the rockies and northern plains facing wind chills as low as -55°F.

The Gulf Coast and Florida Panhandle are also under freeze warnings, threatening crops and plumbing.
