Argentina President Faces Impeachment Calls Over Crypto Crash

ARGENTINA – Argentine President Javier Milei is under fire after promoting the $Libra cryptocurrency on social media.

Milei’s tweet, which included a link to buy the coin, sent its price soaring.

Only for him to delete the post hours later, leading to a sharp crash and huge losses for investors.

Critics, including opposition lawmakers and former President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, are calling for his impeachment and even fraud charges, accusing him of orchestrating a “Rug pull.”

Meanwhile, the presidential office claims the post was removed to prevent market speculation and says an investigation will determine if any wrongdoing occurred.
