NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Coroner Kara Turnquest-Deveaux has suspended arrest warrants issued for 13 police officers who failed to appear in court on Monday to be committed to stand trial in the Supreme Court.

The matters concern homicide by manslaughter findings in the deaths of Deangelo Evans, Shanton Forbes, Azario Major, Harold Brown and Richard Bastian, Valentino Johnson, Gino Finley Jr, Elroy Stubbs and Ernest Forbes.

The court had sent summonses to the Commissioner of Police for the officers to appear.

Turnquest-Deveaux had initially issued arrest warrants for the officers after they failed to show up.

However, she suspended the warrants after attorney Kelsie Munroe said his clients had not been served.

The matter has been adjourned to Wednesday at 11am.
