Assassination Attempt On Haitian Journalist

HAITI – A well-known Haitian journalist survived an assassination attempt in a Haiti. Roberson Alphonse, a journalist with the daily newspaper Le Nouvelliste and Radio Magik 9 – was hospitalized and expected to recover after his car was riddled with bullets. 

No one has been arrested, although Haitian journalists have long been the target of warring gangs, who have grown more powerful since President Jovenel Moise was assassinated last year. 

This attack comes after more than two journalists were fatally shot and their bodies set on fire while reporting in a slum controlled by gangs.
