MALAYSIA – More than a dozen people including children have been killed after a landslide at a holiday campsite in Malaysia’s Selangor State.

Survivors describe how the landslide wiped out their shelters and killed at least 21 people asleep at the time in an unlicensed campsite.

The early morning landslide happened when mud and earth tore down a 100 foot hillside into an organic farm that officials said was operating the campsite illegally.

Among the victims were five children and 12 women.

Landslides are common in Malaysia, but typically only after heavy rains.
