HAITI – At least 70 people are dead, more than 30 injured and over 50 homes destroyed following a brutal gang attack in Haiti’s Artibonite region.

Local advocacy groups say the assault targeted the community of Jean-Denis, lasting from Saturday night into Monday morning.

The attack has been linked to the Gran Grif gang, an ally of the Viv Ansanm coalition operating nearby.

Residents report gunmen opened fire on civilians, set homes ablaze, and even returned after police left the area, prolonging the violence.

Officials warn the death toll could rise as search teams continue recovering bodies.

As of now, Haitian authorities have not released official casualty figures, highlighting the worsening security crisis beyond Port-au-Prince.
