ETHIOPIA – At least 71 people have died in Ethiopia after a truck packed with passengers plunged into a river in the bona district in Southern Sidama.

Authorities say the truck missed a bridge and fell into the river, with reports indicating it was overloaded.

A government spokesperson confirmed the fatalities, including 68 men and 3 women.
