NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Last week, Minister of Labour and Immigration, Keith Bell revealed the Department of Labour had received complaints from Atlantis employees who say they felt pressured by their employers to take a position on the proposed RCI Beach Club on Paradise Island. Now, Atlantis is responding.

Vaughn Roberts, Atlantis’ Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and Special Projects, responding to questions about the investigation by the Department of Labour on whether or not Atlantis “pressured and intimidated” employees to take a “particular course of action” when it comes to RCI’s proposed beach club project on western Paradise Island.

He says, the communication they made to staff was simply to explain why atlantis had spoken publicly about their position.

Last week, the Department of Labour went to the resort and handed out survey cards to staff as part of the investigation, and while Roberts tells us Atlantis has been cooperative in the process, they’re disheartened by the handling of the situation.
