NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The joy in Atlantis’ Grand Ballroom last Friday night was undeniable and infectious as team members and executives across the Nassau and Ft. Lauderdale properties celebrated the achievement of their colleagues.

This year’s Crystal Awards theme is “Diamonds Are Forever: A Timeless Affair.”

The ceremony is designed to be the finale to the resort’s employee recognition program.

Recognized during the evening were leader, manager, and team member of the year, with awardees walking away with trips to New York, Las Vegas, and thousands in cash.

One of the leader’s of the year for the Ft. Lauderdale office, Kathera Jones-Dickerson, tells me she was shocked when she received the nomination, and that her win left her dazed.

Kathera Jones Dickerson – Recipient, Leader of the Year, Ft. Lauderdale

“To be nominated and to also win, yea that was a huge surprise for me.”

However, for general team member for Heart of House winner, Troy Toote, his response was rather unique.

Denielle Miller –

“When they called your name was it something you anticipated?”

Troy Toote – Recipient, General Team Member, Heart of House –

“No I was kind of leery but when they called my name, I waited to see if anybody else was moving and then I moved, yea.”

Denielle Miller –

“And you sound like you’re a crowd favorite because when I heard your name called there was a lot of cheers, were you even expecting that aspect of it?”

Troy Toote – Recipient, General Team Member, Heart of House –

“Yea, I’m pretty out going.”

Then finally, general team member for Front of House winner, Brian Forbes, tells me he already has grand plans for the prize money.

Denielle Miller –

“How do you plan on spending the prize money from tonight?”

Brian Forbes – Recipient, General Team Member Front of House

“I’m going to knock off one or two bills. I’m going to definitely continue to pour into others. My heart is bigger than my pockets sometimes. I have an adoptive class at one of the government primary schools, I want to do something for them.”
