NASSAU, BAHAMAS – One of the top international prospects for the MLB signing Class of 2025, Ayden Johnson made it official with the Athletics Monday night.

Friends and family gathered at Bahamas Harvest Church Monday  to celebrate the 16-year-old beginning his minor league journey.

Johnson, a 6’2″ 180 pound shortstop out of the fortuna training facility in Plant City, Florida, was ranked the no.12 international prospect by MLB pipeline.

One of the franchises top signees in the period, Johnson received a signing bonus of $1.5 million, comparable to the bonus of $1.5 million for outfielder Breyson Guedez, just over $1.5 million for two-way Japanese star Shotaro Morii and $850,000 for no. 16 prospect Darwing Ozuna.

Johnson continues a family legacy on the diamond, following in the footsteps of his older brother, Paris Johnson – who signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers organization in July 2022.
