The Bahamian Big Man Notches a Double Double in Return from Injury

PHEONIX, AZ, USA – Center Deandre Ayton of the Phoenix Suns dominated the Los Angeles Lakers to the tune of 21 points, 11 rebounds and one block and 1 three-pointer on an ultraefficient 9 of 11 shooting night.

The big man was on a tear of late before missing his last two games because of an injured ankle, however, he picked up right where he left off helping his Suns to easily dispatch the Lakers 130-104. With Anthony Davis out for a month with a foot injury he sustained over the weekend, and the Lakers giving their veterans Lebron James and Russell Westbrook a night off on the second night of a back-to-back,  the Suns easily ran away with this game.

Venerable point guard Chris Paul led the Suns with a season-high 28 points to go with 8 assists and 2 steals. The Suns were without leading scorer Devin Booker who was out with a groin injury, but Damion Lee picked up the slack starting in his absence, making a career-high 5 three-pointers. Wingman Mikal Bridges chipped in with 20 points and Torrey Craig added 17 points on a perfect 4 of 4 shooting night from beyond the arc to go with 8 rebounds and 4 assists.

Dennis Schroder of the Lakers had 30 points to go with 4 rebounds and 4 assists while Kendrick Nunn added 17 off the bench.

Ayton and the Suns are up against he Washington Wizards tomorrow night.
