NASSAU , BAHAMAS – Baha Mar hosted a special event to highlight the importance of swim safety as families prepare for summer activities.

During its “Learn to Swim Day,” the resort partnered with Let’s Swim Bahamas to host more than 100 students.

Yesterday, the world celebrated Learn to Swim Day, and Baha Mar joined the festivities.

Partnering with Let’s Swim Bahamas, more than 100 children enjoyed a day at the resort’s Baha Bay water park while taking part in what’s described as the world’s largest swim lesson.

Let’s Swim Bahamas is an organization that has spent years teaching children, particularly public school students, how to swim free of charge.

Co-founder and Director Andy Knowles says programs like this are part of a much broader initiative.

He says the organization’s mission extends beyond teaching swimming, with a focus on building confidence, life skills and a strong foundation for young people.

And of course, it was all about the children.

Several participants shared what they learned and why the experience was meaningful.
