Bahamas Advances To Semis With A Win Over Cuba

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Team Bahamas completed the group stage at 3-0 and now head into the semifinals tonight at the under 15 Caribbean Baseball Cup.

In a matchup of undefeated teams, the hosts won 11-8 over Cuba last night at the Andre Rodgers National Stadium.

Cuba took an early 5-0 lead after the top half of the first inning but The Bahamas mounted an incredible eight run rally in the third inning to take control for good.

Liam Eneas got the win on the mound for Team Bahamas.

Elvis Pardo struck out two of the three batters he faced in the seventh inning to get the save.

NCAA Football

Prince Strachan and his Boise State Broncos are headed to the college football playoff.

The no. 10 broncos defeated no. 20 UNLV, 21-7, to win the old trapper Mountain West championship, last night.

Strachan finished with two catches for 18 yards.

The Broncos finished the season 12-1, undefeated in conference play at 7-0.

That makes it back to back Mountain West titles for the Broncos and six in program history.

Boise State extended its winning streak to 11 game and finished the season with a perfect home record for the first time since 2019.

Their only loss of the season came in week two against the number one ranked Oregon Ducks 37-34.

NBA

Both Deandre Ayton and Buddy Hield struggled from the field and their teams struggled on the scoreboard in lopsided losses Friday night.

Ayton scored 6 points and grabbed four rebounds in his Portland Trail Blazers 141 – 99 loss to the Utah Jazz.

In Golden State, Hield scored 4 points in 13 minutes in the warriors’ 107 – 90 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

We’ll find out Boise State’s postseason fate tomorrow during the college football playoff selection show.
