Prime Minister Philip Davis officially declared it Bahamas National Day at the World Expo 2020.

It was a day filled with some of the best in cultural displays in The Bahamas, along with an abundance of national pride.

 



For nearly half an hour it was the undeniable highlight of the expo. A Junkanoo band flanked by Bahamians rushed into the hearts of spectators of all nationalities and ethnicities.

Simultaneously, more than 30 members of the Royal Bahamas Police Force Band, displayed how they earned the title “world renowned”. The stage of nations then welcomed Prime Minister Davis, Mrs. Davis, Foreign Minister Fred Mitchell and a Bahamian delegation to officially declare this Bahamas National Day.

The UAE’s Minister for Tolerance and Co-existence acknowledged the strong and active presence of the Bahamas at the Expo, making special mention of the design of the pavilion by UB – and named Bahamas Strong.

Prime Minister Davis was greeted with a crowd of enthusiastic Bahamian supporters and reminded the audience why cultural expression levels the playing field among nations.

Later, the Prime Minister would speak to the need to show up here in such large numbers.
