NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Track and field athletes Reanno Todd, Kevanice Hanna, and Ivaneice Charlton competed in the National Scholarship Invitation at the prestigious IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

The event featured unsigned athletes performing in front of U.S. college track and field coaches for the opportunity to pick up scholarships.

Charlton, who competed in the 100m hurdles in Bradenton, talks about her experience fighting through injury and nerves to perform in front of college scouts for the first time.

Reanno Todd participated in the decathlon for the very first time, despite injuries and nerves he gave it everything he had.

Latoya Hanna-Moxey, CEO of the Hanna-Way Group collaborated with the NSI to send these athletes to Florida. She thinks it’s important to ensure that these young athletes have support in their academics and their athletics.

Meanwhile, in last week’s Grand Bahama soccer finals, Freeport Primary got the win in the Girls’ Division, beating Bishop Michael Eldon 3-0.

Freeport Primary girls’ Head Coach  Ravano Ferguson knew his team showed up prepared to win.

MVP Izarra Nesbit put the team on her back with a hat trick to win the MVP trophy for Freeport Primary.

Bishop Michael Eldon did take the hardware in the Boys’ Division, winning 4-0 over Tabernacle. Stone Higgs was their MVP.
