NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The 51st edition of The Bahamas National Swimming Championships begin on Thursday.

Over 600 swimmers from 17 swim clubs will converge on the Betty Kelly Kenning Aquatic Center to compete in the biggest swim meet of the year. 

The Mako Aquatics Club is the defending champion.

Bahamas Aquatics Secretary General Georgette Albury spoke to Our News recently about the meet and expectations.

Meanwhile, Four Seasons Race Management is hosting a Bareback/Bikini Fun Run event Saturday at 6am at Goodman’s Bay. 

Organizer Marcel “Bop” Major is ready to go. Funds raised will go towards a number of worthy causes. Community Advocate Erin Brown had the details.
